My Story
I’ll be honest — I originally never wanted to be a coach. To me, it seemed like the worst job ever. Long hours, endless stress, and super boring. No thanks.
But one of my friends convinced me to give it a try.
When I first started, I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. After all, I had played at a high level — wasn’t that enough? Turns out, it wasn’t.
I knew how the game of basketball should look. But I didn’t know how to run a tryout, structure a practice, make smart substitutions, make in-game adjustments, handle parents, or navigate all the little details that make up youth coaching.
There’s so much to coaching that nobody tells you. I wish someone had prepared me for it all. Even more than that, I wish I hadn’t been so prideful. I didn’t want people to think I was incompetent or a bad coach, so I never asked for help.
Are you thinking the same way? Trust me — I know the feeling.
That’s why I created Highlight Hoops: to give coaches practical tools, resources, and mentorship so they don’t have to figure it out alone. Because when coaches grow, players thrive.
And to the players reading this: I get it — you want to stand out, earn more minutes, and play at the next level. That takes more than just showing up to practice. That’s why I also focus on player development, highlight video creation, the recruiting process, game film breakdowns, and much more. Whether you’re in Long Island for training or across the country needing a highlight reel, I can help you showcase your game and take the next step.
If you’re ready to grow as a coach — or want to give your players the tools to succeed — let’s take the next step together.
